Double up the little black dress

You have the perfect LBD, but you have already worn it this week. How disappointing – you look great in it, and its always a great day when you wear it.

But you know that you need to wear it on Friday for that special meeting, so what do you do?

Make sure you never…rarely wear that dress by itself. That way, no matter how amazing it is, the focus is always on the dress. People will automatically take more notice of it because there is nothing there to support it. That way even if you wear a beautiful bright scarf, people will always still notice the dress. And while that’s great, it limits the times you can wear that dress.

What are your options?

Firstly, as I have already mentioned, dont always wear just the dress. Try mixing it up by wearing;

  • beautiful scarves. Think about colour, texture, and patterns.
  • statement jewellery. Some of my favourite brands are; Samantha Wills, T&J Designs and even Equip.
  • out of the ordinary shoes. I love stilettos, so when I’m wearing my LBD I can go a little OTT and wear my more eccentric shoes. Sometimes I will take this chance to wear bright pink stilettos, or the ones with flowers etc.
  • change your make up routine. If you’re anything like me, you have your go to make up routine, and you know exactly how long it takes you to do your make up in the mornings (FYI I take anywhere up to 20 minutes). So why don’t you try something a little bolder today. Can you choose a lipstick colour that is not so subtle, can you choose that shade you’ve been dying to wear for ages, but cant seem to match it with any of your outfits – which incidentally, you should not do.

You really can do anything you want to make your LBD the base of your look. there are so many different, and relatively inexpensive options out there to make your look seem totally different!
